You Can Put Your Water In It.

Welcome back everybody, Ben from Run Bigfoot Run here with another gear review. This time I'm checking out the Orange Mud Gear Vest. As always as a Bib Rave Pro, I am sent items to test and review and if you want to learn more about being a Bib Rave Pro, visit www.bibrave.com
If you would like to see my video review click HERE and subscribe while you're at it. I have some cool things going on that you might enjoy.
Ready for action, just need to refill the bottle.
I used the Gear Vest on a five, six and 13 mile run in different weather, from hot and sunny to cold and windy. Once you get the vest adjusted you really don't notice it. Until you need something to drink or want to grab a gel or a snack, then everything is within easy reach. The vest has four points of adjustment, 2 chest straps that adjust up and down and 2 side straps to cinch everything nice and snug.

The back

The rear of the vest has a gear cinch which is great for storing a jacket. There's also a large pocket which is for the 1-liter bladder. I've used other vests with larger bladders before and the 1-liter seems the right size. The bladder is made by Hydrapak and features a dry bag style closure, making it easy to open and refill.

The front of the vest has four pockets. 2 pockets are small and mainly considered for trash, but you could probably stick a gel in them, but there's a better spot for those. The 2 large pockets will fit a 17oz soft flask, or a plus size phone. One note, if you use bottles try to keep the weight even. It can get a little lopsided.
The front
The inside of the vest is a soft airy mesh material that stays cool while you're running. When you wear the vest you want it to ride high so the air will flow and keep you cool.

The inside

Orange Mud has placed 2 velcro pockets on each side and that's where you want to store your gels or energy chews of choice. I could fit at least 3 gels in each side, so your set as far as energy is concerned.

Huge shoulder pocket
So far I have really enjoyed running in the Orange Mud gear vest. I have tried other brands and Orange Mud seems to have hit the nail on the head with this one. If your in the market for a running vest, I would put this on your radar. You can go to www.orangemud.co mand save 15% with the code BRGV15.

See you next time and lace up and get out there!
